What ironing taught me

30 Jun

I’m not usually fussed by ironing, I’m not a fan and if I can get away with not doing it I will.  When I went to iron a white T-shirt which I’ve had for years I discovered that actually maybe I should have tried to iron it before. Having laid it out on the board I realised that the seam on one side is wonky. Not just a little ‘off’ but that it actually comes right around the front of the top. I was so surprised at the shoddy tailoring that I pinned it to a board and took this picture to show you.

You see that line going DIAGONALLY across the right hand side of the t-shirt? That’s the ride hand seam. For years I’d been absent mindedly trying to twist the seam to the side- for YEARS and all along, it was never going to sit straight. I’m going to start ironing things more often.
